Veritas, Veritas, Veritas

Quick update for today. I had my first day of classes, and it was long and successful.

I have Costa Rican Healthcare and Tropical Medicine, my elective class, in the morning 8am-12pm every Tuesday and Thursday. My professor is an MD. He is a Tico and speaks very good English, and he is really cool. I learned a lot today and I'm really looking forward to the rest of the session. At one point, we get to go visit an EBAIS (a primary care clinic - there's one for each sector), possibly a private hospital in Costa Rica, and we have one Saturday field trip to a serpentarium as part of the Tropical Medicine part of the class. I'm really super excited about this class.

My Spanish class is in the afternoon 1-6pm Monday through Thursday. My teacher is very nice. She has a huge smile and she's very clear and helpful. I think I will enjoy that class as well.

Today I signed up for an excursion at Tamarindo. I will be going on a sailing catamaran tour on Saturday. They will serve bocas (little snacks) and drinks, and then dock to let us snorkle, kayak, and chill on the beach. It cost me 85 USD, and I'm really really excited about it. It's going to be a great weekend.

Since I don't have class in the morning, I am going to go to the school early to try to finish my personal statement (finally). I really love my school. It is comfortable, it's open-air in a lot of places, it has a lot of food for lunch, it has a bookstore and an ATM and a place for me to recharge my SIM card minutes. It has basically everything I need.

More soon! Probably after I return from Guanacaste. Chao luego!
